Menus in WordPress are an easy way to create lists of links. These menus can be used in designated areas in most themes and as widgets in sidebars.

The WP Writer’s Block theme comes with two menu areas you can use:

  • Header – this menu is displayed in the header area at the top or side of your site. If you’re using one of the “fixed” header locations, make sure your most important links are at the top and there aren’t too many or else the ones on the bottom will get cut off.
  • Footer – this menu, appropriately, is displayed in the footer of your site. No limitations here except your tolerance of link text!

Neither one of these menus is required but they can be used to create links to important pages, posts, and archive pages in the site.
